The Path of the Land Tender
Â
Healing the Land, Remembering the True Human
Welcome, I am Emiliano. Before my initiation as an Ajq’ij at the sacred Volcán Jun Ajpu', my hands were already deep in the soil.
Â
I grew up on a farm in Mexico, where my grandmother planted the first seeds of reverence in my heart. She instilled in me a deep and abiding love for plants, and from my earliest memories, I dreamed of tending a garden that flourished with life.
As I grew older, I stepped into the modern world and pursued a formal degree in biosystems engineering, taking specialized classes in precision agriculture. I wanted to understand the mechanics of the earth. During my undergraduate research on biomass gasification for carbon capture, I spent hours mapping and studying the carbon cycle in forest ecosystems. As I looked through the lens of science, something far deeper than data revealed itself: the absolute, undeniable interconnection of all living things.
Â
I realized that modern systems often try to engineer what nature already knows how to do in perfection. After graduating, I returned home to reconnect with my roots. Through meditation, deep stillness, and listening to the land, my technical understanding gave way to a sacred calling.

Falling in Love with the Land
This calling drew me to the Orchards of Hood River, Oregon. In 2025, I participated in the WWOOF Future Farmers program at Tamiyasu Orchards. Working closely with the trees and the soil, I fell profoundly in love with the spirit of the land here.
Â
Today, I continue that daily devotion as a farmer's apprentice at Peachwood Orchard. Under the guidance of my mentor, we cultivate organic peaches and practice holistic orchard management. I see firsthand every single day how mindful, organic stewardship brings an ecosystem to life, treating the farm not as an industrial machine, but as a living, breathing community.

The Living Bridge: Science, Soil, and the Sacred
My path revealed that true ecological restoration cannot happen without spiritual alignment. Science can measure the breath of a forest, but it is ancestral wisdom that teaches us how to walk within it.
Â
Over years of dedicated study and practice with the Cholq’ij, the sacred 260 day calendar, I found the ultimate blueprint for ecological and human harmony. Taught in the unbroken K’iche’ Maya tradition, the Cholq’ij guides us through the continuous gestation necessary to awaken as a winaq, a true and fully realized human being.
Â
I received my initiation under the profound energy of Wajxaqib’ B’atz’ (8 Thread/Monkey), the sacred day that marks the unbroken thread of time and the weaving of existence. On this day, an Ajq’ij receives the blessing and responsibility to serve the community, walking as a living bridge between the visible and invisible worlds, connecting humanity with the Heart of the Sky (Uk’u’x Kaj) and the Heart of the Earth (Uk’u’x Ulew)

The Maya Milpa Rotation and Helping Plants
A cornerstone of my life's work is a deep reverence for the sacred Maya milpa rotation. Helping with plants, learning their rhythms, listening to their needs, and supporting their growth,is my absolute greatest joy.
Â
The milpa is not just a method of agriculture; it is a masterclass in agroecology. It teaches us that life thrives in community, where maize, beans, and squash nourish and protect one another in natural polyculture over cycles of time. I am bringing this vision to life right now as I establish my own personal farming operation here in Hood River. By blending the technical insights with the ancestral wisdom of the milpa, I am building a space rooted in organic, living practices.
Â
Working hand in hand with land tenders, I advocate for chemical free systems that reject synthetic inputs in favor of living soil biology, companion planting, and natural cycles. When we cultivate organically, we treat the earth as a living organism rather than a commodity.

The Vision: Reciprocal Healing
Â
I am here to help build living ecosystems where human beings live in conscious harmony with the plants, soil, waters, and animals around them, evolving our consciousness in tune with the divine natural intelligence that flows through all of creation.
Â
We were never meant to operate like disconnected machines. We were born with an original, sacred blueprint.
Â
Through Mayan Cross readings, Tz’ite seed divination, sacred fire ceremonies, and wild chakra yoga, I used my ancestral training to help you:
Â
-
Clear the noise: Release the artificial conditioning and mental fatigue of modern systems and receive clear guidance
 -
Remember your blueprint: Reconnect with your Nahual, your innate intelligence, and the gifts you brought into this lifetime.
 -
Align your life project: Translate daily spiritual keys into grounded, practical action in your daily life, your garden, and your community.
Â
When we heal the land, the land heals us in return. When we step into our rightful place within the ecosystem, we finally become whole.
Step into Alignment
Â
Whether you are seeking clarity on your life project, longing to cultivate your land in harmony with nature, or ready to listen to the ancestral voice within your heart, I invite you to walk this path with me.
